法拉利著名的黑马起源于第一次世界大战。 Francesco Baracca 伯爵也是意大利空军的飞行员。 是他想到在他的飞机侧面画这匹马。 巴拉卡于 1919 年英年早逝，但他的许多里程碑使他成为民族英雄。Baracca 复制了一位在飞机上佩戴斯图加特市徽的德国飞行员的饲养马匹设计。相传，巴拉卡击落的第一架飞机就是这架，因此他可以将这个标志作为战利品。
